Who is that crusty vegan?

Hello!
The name is Mel! I live in the rolling hills and wooded valleys of West Yorkshire with my young son.
I like vegan food, hanging out with my friends, meeting people, going outside, (I sound like such a loser!) driving around going for adventures, festivals, music, foraging, learning new things, glitter, vans and trucks, body mods, blah, blah, blah. Enough about that.
I made the transition to vegan from omni around August/September 2015 and have fucking loved the whole experience!
I have more energy, my weight fluctuates less (not that I really care but it's nice when you're clothes always fit!), my skin and nails are better, my piercings (troublesome cheeks especially) flare up less and I just generally feel better. But fuck me, the food! It's all about the food!
I always loved to cook and used to work in a couple of small cafes yet felt bored eating the same meat heavy meals over and over again. Since going vegan I feel like an entire world of food experimentation has opened up! I love to cook, I love to eat, I love to try new things. Vegan food is amazing, don't let anyone tell you it isn't! Anyone who says vegan food is bland or boring is doing it wrong!
I started posting meals that I'd made on my personal Facebook and on my Instagram and got a great response! So much so that people started asking if I had a blog. The thought crossed my mind and after months of procrastination here we are!
I spent ages comparing myself to other food bloggers with their witty names, waffling posts, amazingly thought out photos and fantastic lighting. I put myself off the idea of having a blog for a while as I felt I could never compete at their level. It took me a while to realise that I can set my own standard. I don't have to compete. I can just do what I do and people will love it or hate it.
So this is me. My photos aren't always well lit, my presentation might not always be the best and I might swear a bit but this is me, this is my food. No airs and graces, honest and proper. Just how it should be!
If there's anything you'd like to know feel free to ask!
